I have visited a few times since the new owners took over a few months back. The quality and taste of the food is still great! Every time I go in there there are a least a few tables dining in. With the previous owners there was hardly any dine-in customers. Bonus points for giving fried wontons with the soup on carryout orders!

Super fast and delicious takeout make this place my top spot in the Clawson/Madison Heights area for Chinese food.

It was pretty good. I realized after going there that I am not a huge Chinese food fan, but LC's gave me hope. I had to totally modify the lunch menu to make it so I could eat. I changed the soup, the egg roll, rice and meal. They didn't even blink. With water it was $8 and I left with a big container of left overs for dinner. Super friendly. Seemed clean. Plus I had a yelp coupon. Whoo HOOO!

I just tried this place and was impressed. The menu and décor are your standard Chinese restaurant. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the food I had was excellent. And the portions are very generous. I need to go back and try some other selections (I've just had the General Tso's chicken). I wish they delivered.

Since I have recently moved to Royal Oak, I have been on the hunt for a new take-out/delivery Chinese restaurant. LC's might not have delivery but they deliver on everything else. This is by far my favorite take-out Chinese restaurant. I typically order Chicken with mixed vegetables, it is delicious! The sauce is the right consistency and holds up for left-overs the next day. The take-out portions are huge, which makes it easy for sharing. If you are taking it home, head over to the Holiday market for a decent selection of craft beers.

Love this place! New to the neighborhood and this place is just the right blend of east side americanized and the John R/Dequindre super authentic

I rarely if ever leave a bad review, but the food sucks, the staff sucks, the ambience sucks, the chubby bratty kid that runs around the restaurant sucks. It sucks.

This is a hidden gem. They serve pretty good American Chinese food but there is also a secret Asian menu that serves authentic Chinese food. This food takes longer to prepare so you are going to have to wait but it is really good. Sometimes the food is even seasonal and if they have it on hand. My family tends to call our order in early so its ready when we get there. I highly recommend the Salt and Pepper Squid or any of the noodle dishes or the hot pots, especially the fish and tofu hot pot. Its deep fried cod? and fried tofu then into a stew with veggies and gravy in a sizzling hot pot. Very yummy. Or try the pork chops with special sauce, sorry I don't remember the name.

Awesome general tso's and wonton soup. I've ordered several times. The new owners are great!!

We only tried one meal from location on our first visit. That will be the last visit. It's the most thin sauce we've had, with almost no spice, and the only flavor I could detect came from the salt. The chicken was pretty good but the vegetables weren't very good. The soup was OK though.

The is the Mom and Pops owned restaurants. Food fresh clean and nice. A wonderful nice bunch all family you can tell that they truly care about every dish that come to the table. We had lunch today for three and our bill was under $23.00 plus tip. Everything was very good my wife wanted to have some Broccoli chicken la Orange. No problem our wait person was great. Much better the Young on 11 mile in Royal Oak.

Oh LC's, please buck the trend of Detroit-area Chinese restaurants and deliver. Preferably deliver to Berkley in your range because I don't want to meet you like an addict on the corner of Twelve and Main in the National Coney Island parking lot. My beau and I have relied pretty extensively on Tai Fai for our Chinese food cravings since nothing closer satisfies our appetite or quality standards. LC's Asian Kitchen was a departure from the known when a relative brought over to die for crab rangoon lacking an iota of greasiness or squishiness, and a pretty impressive batch of sweet and sour chicken. We all helped ourselves to some of her lunch and declared ourselves interested. A week later when the beau was out of town, she and I splurged on Chinese takeout including hot-and-sour soup, wonton soup, crab rangoon, beef fried rice, and almond fried rice combos with egg rolls. Look out because their fried rice absolutely hits the spot. You can naturally feed three people off it, but the rice is moist, the meat tender, and the veggies buried throughout like treasure better than lumps of freeze-dried peas or carrots. I found the consistency just right and after a day or two in the fridge, somehow it got even better. Don't ask me how those food physics work, that's beyond my pay grade, I just know my taste buds registered greater wanton happiness. My SNL, on the other hand, found her rice a bit dry without the addition of some water and a spin around the microwave so your mileage may vary. On a dine in, the rice was perfectly fine. The wonton soup is a little less flavourful than I prefer, and needs a stronger spiced base. I would give it a definite pass in favour of the hot-and-sour soup, carrying definite kick. The lesson here is ask for the spice and they will deliver. The Szechuan chicken comes medium and kicked up a notch, leaves a pleasant tingle on the tongue and lips without setting your face aflame. Definite plus there. The balance of vegetables and chicken also turned out well, though I was mildly disappointed the Szechuan chicken, listed as a lunch and dinner combo, isn't available as a combo for dining in. That's only carryout. My beau wasn't all that thrilled by the almond chicken, finding it too bland and in desperate need of additional pepper for zing. We both found the food well presented and cooked, especially when LC's was clearly in a rush on a Saturday night. Next time around, when we order we'll ask for more spice.

I've waited over 3 years to return. Glad I came back. I was on my way to Charlies for a burger and passed by LC's door. There are carryout signs hanging outside. I decided to try again. The lady at the register is very pleasant and I went for the Kubo Chicken lunch combo with egg roll and fried rice. I waited about 5 minutes and a guy came out of the kitchen, also very pleasant and handed me my large load of food and told me to have a nice day. I raced home and went for the egg roll immediately while it is still crispy. The last time I had one, it was terrible but this time around solid A- on this guy. Crispy and light. Really good. I next hit the main dish. Really good, lots of vegetables, chicken and peanuts. My only complaint if I had to have one is the vegetables are cut big but that is me knit picking for the sake of knit picking. Overall for 7 bucks I got close to a dinner size portion of really good food.

This is a weird little restaurant. It's just down the street and I've driven past it plenty of times never even noticing it. I kinda wish I could've just kept on ignoring it. First off, when you walk in, it is whisper quiet, I felt like I was in a waiting room waiting for the doctor and it was just as sparsely decorated as one. The waitress sat us and then disappeared into the back for what felt like an eternity, only to reappear with no food for other guests. It just seemed like everyone was needlessly waiting and for what reason I cannot figure out. I do give this place a plus for it's decent prices and large amounts of food, it's just a real shame that the food is no good. You really need to stand out in this area if you want to have good Chinese food as there is literally a Chinese joint on almost every corner throughout Troy and Madison Heights. What really irked my experience was the 11 year old working there. Cashing customers out, taking orders, running food. Everyone seemed to be turning their heads at this sight, us included. It just seemed inappropriate and we couldn't wait to get out of there. Skip it.

I was searching for a Chinese restaurant while I was in the area and came across LC's! So glad my boyfriend decided to stop! The hours on the window are not the same as on Yelp but that didn't matter since they were indeed open! My boyfriend and I were greeted immediately. The parking lot was bare. One lady walked out the door with a carry out as we pulled in. There was nobody else dining in. The waitress could tell we were newbies just the way we browsed the menu. She told us about the dinner combinations, and specials. I ordered the sweet and sour chicken which came with soup (I picked wonton!), egg roll and rice. While my boyfriend ordered the general chicken. Wonton soup was excellent! Two large wontons. Soup was a little spicy and you could definitely taste the pepper but it certainly wasn't flavorless and bland. Egg roll was freshly fried and stuffed full. Definitely not dry and hard. I didn't break any teeth enjoying my egg roll. Crispy on the outside. My boyfriend, who doesn't like egg rolls- next to ever- loved LC's egg rolls! Portions are huge! Definitely large enough for at least two meals. All the chicken was freshly made and you could definitely tell. I know the way old oil and fresh oil taste and LC's definitely takes pride in their food and changes the oil frequently. General Chicken says spicy on the menu but there wasn't much of a kick, which worked out for me because I'm not too big on spicy things. Staff was wonderful. Very friendly and personable. Family own. Definitely worth the drive next time I go. There's not many Chinese restaurants in Metro Detroit that I fully enjoy and I'm glad LC's Asian Kitchen is ranked on top of the list. Can't wait to come back and try other menu items! For $25 (with tip) my boyfriend and I were able to have a great dinner and still able to bring home leftovers.

This is my new standby for Chinese. Sorry, Harvest Garden. Boyfriend was working so I checked yelp for some takeout and was craving Chinese. LC's had pretty good reviews and the pictures looked good so I went for it. Glad I did. I ordered wonton soup and the sesame chicken combination with fried rice. The only downside, I'd say, was that the soup was way saltier than I expected. I mean I still ate it, it was good. The sesame chicken, though, was great. It's my standby chinese order, but LC's is better than other places. The sauce has a slightly different taste...less gummy, more flavorful. The eggroll was particularly good, too. Just the right amount of crisp. If you're looking for Chinese around here, I'd definitely recommend it.

This place is very good, and quick. I ordered carry out today for the first time and we were all impressed. It costs the same as about any Chinese/Thai place averaging about $8-$9 per entree. The portions are massive. My gut wants to burst, and I still have two meals worth of food left. I ordered a spring roll. But got the egg roll. No big deal, because it still tasted good. The wonton soup was ok. I make it better at home. The Thai peanut chicken was very tasty. I ordered it hot, but it was pretty mild. I'll get extra hot next time. My son got the sweet and sour chicken. It was really good, and I like that they kept the sauce on the side, so it wasn't drowning in the sweet sticky sauce. I think his was the best. My fiancé got the Singapore noodles. Very tasty. Maybe hers was the best, idk. All of it was very good. And they don't skimp on the proteins, whereas most places load up on veggies and skimp on meat. The young man (by young, I mean probably 11 or 12, I'm assuming the owners son) was very sweet. Nice kid who even offered to walk my food to my car for me. This is probably my favorite Chinese/Thai restaurant in the royal oak/Ferndale area. Since it's close by, even better. I'll definitely have this in my rotation on the days I don't want to cook.

A Tuesday evening sees this venue pretty vacant. I walked in with my family of 4(wife and twin 3yr old girls) and we were warmly greeted by staff/owners. The tables have paper covers which are great for our artistic kiddos. Atmosphere is quiet and pleasant. We started with soup. Wife and kids shared some egg drop and I had the hot and sour all to myself. Easily the best hot and sour soup I've ever had. Wife's main dish was the sesame chicken; delicious sauce, crispy breading, tender chicken. Kids shared the vegetable soft noodles and (surprisingly) enjoyed it very much. My main course was the Singapore Noodles. A fantastic dish with a great variety of flavors and textures. Yellow curry, rice noodles, chicken, shrimp, pork, green onion, mushrooms. This has been some of the best Asian cuisine I've had in the area at a cozy restaurant with excellent staff. A truly wonderful experience.

I'm not really sure why this place has four stars, it has a reasonable price for a lot of food but is like many meh Chinese places when it comes to flavor and taste. I got the Mongolian beef and Kung pao chicken which while looking a little promising were just more or less the same kinda bland brown stir fry sauce. The fried rice is kinda then usual just brown colored rice with some egg in it. I wasn't really impressed and wont likely return again. Very nice people but I just wasn't feelin the same appreciation for their food

I've written some reviews putting down Americanized Chinese and hailing the authentic places. However, sometimes you just need a solid sweet and sour chicken, or hanker for an almond chicken done just the way you remember from your childhood. And when you do have this craving, it can be very difficult to find a place that does it right- not too much grease (though not too little), with the flavors you remember and fresh quality that won't offend your adult foodie sensibilities. LC's Kitchen accomplishes these checkpoints well, and even though I discovered them because my mom ordered take-out (they live a couple of blocks away), I've been back on my own and will drive a little farther to enjoy the goodness over the other Chinese places by my house. LC's has a few characteristics I have to laud: First, when I asked for extra spicy, they actually added extra spice that I could detect. This is incredibly rare in a Chinese restaurant, and wins points and return visits from me in its own right. Second, their vegetables are fresh and their meat tastes tender and high quality. Even their fried food isn't swimming in grease, which makes their Americanized choices a fine way to go instead of an afterthought, like many more authentic Chinese restaurants. I usually enjoy the Szechuan chicken, and share with my friend who gets the almond chicken. Egg drop soup, wonton soup and egg rolls- usual suspects, but still necessary accompaniments (all good). If it's in your neighborhood, go for your next craving.

Change in ownership left me without a chinese restaurant. The food before was expertly prepared and delicious, but the change left it a step below the other average carry out chinese. Nasty!! The staff is extremely friendly but the food leaves a LOT to be desired! 4 for staff... 1 for food.

I have been searching since I moved to Royal Oak for decent Chinese take out! I can finally say I have found my go-to spot! I ordered Sesame chicken and it was very good. The chicken fried rice was also very satisfying. The crab rangoons on the other hand- ive had better, a lot better actually...but I wont let that affect my view of this place. Will definitely be back for more!

It took me awhile to come around to LCs, but I am a fan. they have new owners, but still do a great job. The strong point is that most of their fried food is crispy, even when doing carryout. They put some sauces on the side which helps. I would like a little more vegetables with several dishes. I'm pretty sure when I get General Tso's Chicken or Sesame Chicken, there's no veggies... just meat. Which is cool, but I like veggies too! Plus they make me feel less guilty about bingeing on Chinese food. The fried rice they serve with meals is a bit underwhelming... as are the egg rolls. But everything else is solid. Definitely one of the better Chinese joints in the area.

Absolutely DELICIOUS! I've had the pleasure of eating the General Chicken, Sweet and Sour Chicken, Egg Drop Soup, Chicken Pad Thai, Beef Pad Thai, Pad Pak Curry, Thai Fried Rice, AND Lemon Chicken. The new owner knows what they're doing: EVERYTHING RIGHT. The food is consistently delectable, FULL of flavor, and in massive portions that would be able to feed a 15 foot giant! You should most definitely check out LC's Asian Kitchen for your Chinese-food fix. You will be in an amazing euphoric state of food-coma.

Just got back from having dinner there, and for our first time there, it was an amazing meal. My wife and I were looking for a place to sit down and enjoy some new chinese cuisine, and we were alerted to LC's Asian Kitchen by yelp. So we went on over, and walked into a smaller resturaunt, but it seemed to be nicely charming. We were greated and sat at a table in no time. Now, I dont' know about you but when you sit there and try a new place, you're always going to be a little apprehensive about what you get, so you always go back to your old fall back as a baseline of what you're having. For me, General Tso's Chicken was on the menu. The Won ton soup was right on the spot, the egg rolls were delicious, and the main course... well, needless to say, there wasn't any to take home because it was so good. The portion sizes are pretty big.. and the staff there seemed to be very... very friendly. Definatetly worth checking out if you're in the mood. I know we will be checking them out again soon.

We picked up several things for dinner with friends: wonton and hot-and-sour soups, egg rolls, steamed dumplings, crab rangoon, and a couple dinners--szechuan chicken and kung pao chicken. The employees were beyond friendly and helpful. When I asked about a garlic chicken entree, I was told they don't have one on the menu but would be happy to make a stir-fry of chicken, veggies, and garlic sauce if I wanted. We were offered water or tea and refills while waiting for our food and our food was expertly packaged to avoid a disaster en route. I loved my won ton soup and I'm currently craving more. My szechuan chicken had fresh, crisp peppers and broccoli in a spicy sauce with chicken. Inside is very clean and quiet. There were only a couple tables occupied but it wouldn't be awkward to eat in. A TON of people were coming and going with their Sunday evening Chinese take-out. I highly recommend them and if you check in, there's an offer for 10% off your bill. Enjoy!

Oh good Lord! Could you dump any more salt and msg in the food!?! The server insisted that they did not use a lot of msg, and that the people often comment how fresh their food is. Fresh, yes. Loaded with sodium, yes. Healthy? Hmmm... totally different question. Save yourself some money and go elsewhere!

This place = I love LC's the service is great and the food always tastes fresh and delicious. The atmosphere is nice too (although sometimes a bit empty). The owner is amazing and every time I'm in Royal Oak I take the time to go and have a meal.

Awesome job LC! Fast & fresh. Ordered the Beef & Broc, which had a yummy sauce and tender beef. Shrimp w/vegetables was light and shrimp not overcooked. Pad pak curry chick spice was perfection (med). Was unable to taste the won ton soup as I was quite stuffed. Will pick up again.

I am so sad to have to write another review, this one not as favorable as the one from 2013. This place has gone through a change in management and it's very apparent. The last two times that we have ordered have been very disappointing. My usual go-to item here used to be the Szechuan chicken, it was always so full of flavor. Last week when I ordered this dish, I asked for it to be extra spicy. In the past it has had a good amount of spice, but I was in the mood for something more. It was awful. The only good part about this dish was the variety of fresh vegetables used. The dish had NO spice at all. The meat was now suddenly coated in something, not quite breading ... but it made the meat (that once had no coating at all) slimy and strange. The meal had no flavor, none. The crab rangoon tasted stale and was also nothing like what it once was. I used to love this place and I'm very sad that we're back to searching for decent Chinese once again. My only positive comment is that the staff was very nice and personable.

This is simply the best Chinese food in the area. Honestly, it's a top contender for the best food in the area PERIOD. I've sampled just about the entire menu, but I find it's the classics that stand out. The sesame, orange, and general chicken put everything in the area to shame. There simply isn't anything that tastes as fresh, has just the right sauce, no one even comes close. My favorite dish is LC's chicken. It's the perfect mix of sweet and spicy. If you like pork, try the pork and pea pods. It's amazing.

Everyone i'm the owner of this restaruant thank you for all the nice comments, and we appolagize for the bad comments. And if i spell anything wrong is that it's really hard to type. Anyways I was looking at the comments and saw what I think are you took to long to take your food, or you are just being rude. For further notice I shall try to change what you taste bad into good or at least ok. And at the people say bad comments please tell us what you didn't like and we will make it at least ok.

Update: New ownership and TERRIBLE food and service now. I'm really disappointed how much they've changed their recipes after saying they would stay true to the originals. The Crab Rangoon is rubbery and stale. I ordered the Mongolian Beef and instead got Pepper Steak. They seem like they are in over their heads. Disappointing to say the least. Looks like it's Peking House from now on.

We loved LC's Asian Kitchen with the old owners and were afraid to try the new version. Today we tried and we were very pleased. We had 5 orders today - almond chicken, s&s chicken, s&s shrimp, generals chicken and broccoli chicken. The sauces are different, but good. The only complaint was the shrimp were a bit fishy smelling and tasting. We will be back.

Everyone has their favorite local Chinese place. The one that has been around forever and you just kinda close your eyes when you go in, avoid the bathrooms, and try not to think about what the kitchen looks like if the dining room is so....unsanitary. LC Asian Kitchen is not that place. We were just going to order carryout, but when we walked in, we decided to stay. It is nice and clean, but still has that family run Chinese restaurant atmosphere with a lady greeting people with a baby in her arms smiling and waving at them to find a seat and a young boy taking carryout orders at the counter. The service was fast and friendly. The food was delicious, hot, and way too much food for any one person to eat. We ordered pad Thai and general's chicken and came home with full carryout boxes. In fact, after we ate leftovers for lunch, we still have enough for two lunches. when two meals can serve 4-6, you may want to consider cutting back portion sizes. Wonton soup is always my favorite part of the meal when it is made well. For the pad Thai we said we like it just little spicy. The waitress said order medium then. There wasn't a hint of heat though. If you want spicy pad Thai make it clear that you want to feel the burn, or just go to a Thai restaurant.

Finding good Chinese food in the area has been a struggle for me. I have tried several places and been disappointed, so my expectations for LC Asain were not high. However, I was pleasantly surprised with them. The Wonton Soup tends to be a little salty and the General's Chicken has too much breading on it for my taste. However, the Chicken Fried Rice is good and it's not too greasy. Overall, it is pretty good. The best part, in my opinion, is that they make sure to give every carry out order with soup the friend wontons. It's a nice touch and it shows that they care. I will be ordering from them again.

If you are looking for a great American style Chinese place (ya know, sweet and sour chicken- etc) this is the place! I can only speak for the crab rangoons and sweet n sour chicken, but the flavors and seasoning- everything was great. The staff was super friendly too! The royal oak area doesn't have too many options.... So check this place out!

Good food, great service and very well kept place. The food was good, not over cooked. The rice was simple, the chicken was good, the egg roll was amazing! The sauce they give with the egg roll was different but good. The lady at the front desk was very nice and smiling big and took my yelp coupon, which I was very happy about. I told her how yelp had the wrong around and she said I know I wish they would change it, so I did for her so people can find this good Chinese place. I'm going to get more from this place down the line.

I've been to LC's a couple of time and i've also been searching around the area for decent local asian food - BINGO! This place is going to do it for me! It's right around the corner from my place which makes it even better. The food is always so tasty. It reminds me a place I ate when I lived in California and in Arizona. The owner and his wife are ever so kind to their clientele and very helpful and patient with people ordering. Such great atmosphere comes out of this place and I'm willing to support their business. Good asian food is hard to find. Every place I lived I've always scout areas that has good quality and a good variety of options. Thank you for always serving a tasty meal and putting smiles on me and my companions faces!

We love this place. The food is made fresh. Their restaurant is the cleanest Chinese place around. They offer a Brown Rice option. The staff is always very friendly. We love going there for the LCs Asain special with pan fried noodle and of their vegetarian dishes and crispy beef. I have more to say later...

New owners and different chef. Still pretty close to what it used to be. However, I highly recommend them to stick to the way the food was pre-September for maximum foot traffic! Some small differences are noticeable. I want this place to do well. It's about time we have good Chinese takeout around here.

You know those days when you want to binge watch something on Netflix and eat some Chinese take-out? But then you realize that Chinese food is far too often bland around here, and now your plans are ruined. This place is my solution. They offer a variety of Asian cuisine, and their food is flavorful. It's my new take-out place, and they have a dinner room, in case you want to eat out. Only thing that sucks, I eat late, and they close at 9 pm on weekends.

The food was hot and the service was great. The sweet and sour chicken was greasy and the chicken lo mein with noodles and vegetables was mostly noodles. The portion size was large but I am going to have to add my own vegetables when I eat the leftovers.

Enjoyed my first time carry out experience. Ordered the General chicken which was good - not as spicy as I would like but will make note for the next visit to spice it up! Also ordered the wonton soup and egg roll which was good. Egg rolls have the shrimp & meat which is a lot better than the cabbage only! Overall I had a good experience and plan on returning.

Loved LC's with the former owners, but we won't be back now. We gave it two tries and that's all we're willing to risk. The General's Chicken came with many lumps of fried breading, minus the chicken. The broccoli chicken wasn't like any we've ever had before, and not in a good way. The food is tasteless now. We are SO disappointed. I hate to write a negative review about a business in the neighborhood, but I'd like to save others from our bad experiences.

I knew better than to get my hopes up!! I work right around the corner from this place and my co-workers order it a lot for lunch. The last time they ordered I got a combo lunch of sesame chicken and fried rice. The sesame chicken was ok.. a little sweet for my taste, but the fried rice had NO taste at all, and the broccoli they put in it was a little underdone. I wouldn't waste my money here again knowing there are way better places out there... The co-workers got almond boneless chicken and they like it. I don't like it because it is bland, and this place seems to do that well so.... Another co-worker ordered a thai style dish (pad thai) and said she had to add red pepper flakes AND curry powder just to give it some flavor. So, if you like really boring, bland food, this place is for you. /Bland!!!

    (2)
  • Tony J.

Usually 5 stars+. But I think the new owners cheapened out on the chicken. Before the generals was nice juicy pieces of meat. Now it's that's too much breading to look like bigger pieces chicken. The oldest trick in the book. Coincidence or just new owners?

Finally found a Chinese restaurant on the west side worth going to, and it only took 5 years! Coming for the east side I took all the good Chinese places for granted. We went for take out on a Sunday evening. The service was prompt, the staff was friendly, and the food was outstanding. I highly suggest the steamed dumplings, and wonton soup. We will definitely be going back.

Absolutely delicious. Was in a nearby town but wasn't dressed for the fancy restaurants there. Found this place on yelp and drove a bit to stop in. Glad we did!! The egg rolls were delicious. Reminded me of my home town place growing up. The owners were super sweet. Wish I lived closer and could make this a regular stop.

I wish I didn't came across this place. I ordered Singapore rice noodle, and asked them to replace shrimp and pork with beef and chicken. I ended up paying $14.97 which is three or four bucks more than the regular price (I have done the same thing in other restaurants without additional charge). The reasons given by the owner are 1- beef is expensive; 2- curry powder is expensive; 3- my order is different. Well, first, shrimp is also expensive, I am asking to take shrimp out not keeping shrimp but also want to add beef. second, everyone knows Singapore rice noodle come with curry, I am sure the price of the curry is already included. third, I wasn't asking you to add more cook procedure, you just throw in beef and chicken instead of shrimp and pork ( I don't see this make my order difficult to do). Overall, very bad experience, food is so so, below average. There is no one in the dining area when I walked in, receipt wasn't given to me as well. hope they do submit the tax to MI state. I just feel like they are trying to make any money they can before they run out of business. This is my first bad experience with restaurant in Madison height. Don't recommend this place!!!!!

We tried the orange chicken, spring rolls, lemon chicken, sweet and sour chicken and crab rangoon. Best Chinese food I've ever had. Worth any extra drive you might need to take to get there!

Pretty decent little stop. Big portions, delicious everything. Classic American Chinese food. I got sweet and sour chicken with egg drop. Yummy. Drove about 10 minutes out of my way, and it was worth it.

I love this place - I get carry out a few times a week. The only dish I didn't really enjoy is the beef with broccoli - the beef was a bit tough. I'd try it again just in case it was that order in particular. But I have had a lot of chicken and rice dishes and they are fantastic. The wonton is really good and a carry out staple when I feel a cold coming on. Love the egg roll and the fortunes in the cookies are always spot on (actually fortunes and not just a saying). The interior of the place is a bit bland - but it's about the food, which is good!

LC's has been on Yelp's Welcome page for awhile now and I've been meaning to try them and finally got the chance. I ordered carry-out over the weekend and sampled a few options so here's the gist. We tried the lettuce wraps, the Crab Rangoon, and the General Tso's chicken with accompaniments (a veggie spring roll, a meat spring roll and 2 egg rolls). The lettuce wraps came with it's filling, a plastic bag of loose leaf Iceberg lettuce and a Hoisin like sauce. The filling was meaty and flavorful and they did a pretty fair job here. The Crab Rangoon, my go-to appetizer, was one of the best I've had in town (China One, at 9 and John R has the best nearby-but I'm sure you have your favorites). Their sweet and sour dipping sauce was just right too. Per Kady D's review, I had such high hopes for my General Tso's entree but it left me wanting. I should preface by saying that this is my litmus test for any Chinese restaurant so I'm tough on this dish when I'm not making it myself. The chicken was in large chunks and not overly breaded which is a great start, but there were only three pieces of par cooked broccoli included. While it was ultra fresh looking and tasting, it was a little on the raw side of cooked and I would've liked a little more, no worries though. The chicken while meaty was a little tough and the sauce unfortunately wasn't my favorite. It was really thin and had a bit too much ginger for my taste. The spring rolls were huge (almost the size of an egg roll) which I'm unaccustomed to but I really liked their veggie spring roll. The meat spring rolls were filled with a creamy meat mixture which was tasty albeit a little texturally strange. The egg rolls I wasn't a fan of at all...the dough was soft and the filling had too many sprouts and not enough cabbage and other good stuff...the plum sauce was just right. The bill was $29.10 out the door which seemed a little steep for what we ordered and after reviewing the menu I noticed there prices are slightly higher than several other spots but all in all not a bad meal. I didn't actually go inside but the white linen tables, visible through the windows, looked inviting for a date night out. If you're looking for a new Chinese spot this may be what you're looking for. If you're looking for really good General Tso's chicken I'd recommend Wing Hing in Ferndale or the real deal used to be at Szechuan Empire in Livonia FYI.

This place is such a gem! Such a friendly staff and everything is so clean! Their spring rolls were delicious, I wanted a second! The LC's Chicken dish was tasty! I'll definitely be back for more spring rolls and to try other items on their menu!

I make it a point to visit this little gem anytime I'm in town and they just never seem to disappoint. The restaurant itself is small but service is great and always served with a smile. The food is awesome, my favorite is the LC chicken so far. Try it, you're welcome.

I have been going to see Lisa at LC's Kitchen for about 2 years now. I work right down the street, and tell everybody at work about this great Asian restaurant. I have not had a bad meal here. My entree of choice is the chicken pad Thai. I have not had anyone come up to me at work and say that had a bad lunch when they've order from LC's. Great staff and great food! Thanks Lisa!

We've been looking for a good Chinese Restaurant ever since Golden Wheel's owners left and took the quality of food with them. I found LC's by looking up Chinese Food in my area on Yelp, and most of the reviews were positive. We called in an order for crab Rangoon, egg rolls, chicken fried rice, and pork egg foo young. The crab Rangoon container had holes in it so the Rangoon was still crispy when I ate it. It was pretty light and flavorful (not too greasy), and the sauce was warm and tangy. The egg roll was also nice and crispy and contain cabbage, but it doesn't overwhelm the roll. The chicken in the fried rice was tender and it also contained fresh broccoli, carrots, and scallions. It was delicious! The pork egg foo young was separate from the gravy, which was nice. It didn't overtake the dish. It had a nice balance between the egg, pork and veggies. The gravy was different than what I'm used to and almost seemed like it would be more fitting with a chicken dish, but it was flavorful. I will be back to LC's again, and I'm planning on trying the Thai food next. I would recommend this to anyone looking for good Chinese carry-out!

Had a great dinner at LC's Asian Kitchen. When we walked into this very clean place the hostess was really friendly. We order a few appetizers and each one was better than the next. The staff came often to fill our water and was very attentive to our every needs. The food was great with large portions and it is nice to find a great place so close to our home. Witnessed many people coming in for take out orders also while we ate dinner. Will come back and enjoy another few dishes.

LC's is my new favorite local Asian Restaurant. I've only ordered takeout and have never dined in. I have only eaten Almond Chicken, Tofu Fried Rice and Tofu Pad Thai. All have been excellent and I have ordered those three several times. The ingredients are fresh and made exactly how we've wanted them. Sometimes you get asian food that is too heavy, or saucy, or just seems like it's been sitting around for a while. Well I've never felt that with LC's and since going there we've stopped ordering at our other local asian takeout spots. Whenever I go in (only for takeout so far) it is clean and quiet with a good relaxing atmosphere. The staff is always very friendly and the prices are consistent with the local area. I definitely recommend going there to check out the food and the nice people there. Gave it 4 stars only because I have not dined in or tried more than three things on their menu.

Food here is great. I've tried the Pepper Steak, Almond Chicken, Chicken with Broccoli and Egg Drop Soup, and I would order them all again. For me, 5-star ratings are reserved for truly amazing places, and this place is excellent Chinese food. I'll be coming back regularly. Egg Rolls are top-notch! 12/23/23 Update: I've since tried the Sweet and Sour Chicken, Sesame Chicken and Chicken Lo Mein. All of these dishes were great! This is now my go-to Chinese food restaurant. 6/18/14 Update: I can't recommend this place enough. I've since tried the General Crispy Beef, Chicken Sub Gum and Fried rice, and they're all excellent. Best Chinese good around, and the owners are great people who take care of regulars and new customers alike. Just go here, will ya?!

What a FANTASTIC place for great asian cuisine! Husband and I noticed all the great reviews and decided to try. We ordered the special of the week which is Sweet and Sour Flounder. We also ordered an old stand-by, Veggie Egg Foo Young. Firstly we enjoyed a lovely bowl of Hot and Sour soup. Truly one of the best bowls EVER!! Then we had veggie spring rolls, hot and fresh.....fabulous!! When our entrees came we were very pleased with the presentation. Once we sunk out teeth into the fish we could not contain our glee!! It was tender and succulent, with just the right amount of light breading and sauce. The fish portion was very generous. We also met the entire family who were genuinely interested in our opinions. What a lovely husband and wife team. They also have precious son who was so polite and caring to his sweet little newborn baby sister, as well as to us!!! We have found a new favorite!! Oh and the egg foo young was absolutely delicious!!! We cannot wait to go next week!!!

Good chinese food at a good price. The service was also good when I was there. Tip: don't order food from the thai section of the menu if it's your first time here. It tastes like someone who usually makes chinese food tried to make thai and figured they would just add a ton of curry to cover it up.

Picked up carry out at LC's last night. We were in the area and thought we'd try it based on the recommendations. It was excellent! The kids loved the sweet and sour chicken! Always a plus when there's pineapple in the sauce! We asked if they made chow fun and they made it for is even though it's not on the menu! It was fantastic! We had it with shrimp. Often shrimp scares me at Chinese restaurants because they don't do a good job devaining it. Not the case here. We will definitely be back!

I've been here a couple of times with my wife's family who discovered it. I have never had a bad experience and in fact, felt like I was at a friend's restaurant the first time I ever ate there. There are two equally important primary aspects of a restaurant-taste and experience. LC's hits the nail on the head with both. First the taste: I have tried quite a few different dishes through sitting at the table with family. I never tasted anything bad, or more importantly for a Chinese restaurant, too salty. A lot of places will go really heavy on the salt and soy sauce, not LC's. All the food has a depth of taste that you often don't find at American Chinese restaurants. Even a relatively mild dish like Moo Goo Gai Pan takes a step up from the one-note flavor you usually encounter. A lot of times when you order Wonton soup, the soup is a vaguely chicken-flavored bowl of salt water. Not here, the broth itself not only has a good umami flavor, but the salt is dialed way back and you can actually taste some notes of vegetable and seasonings. The wontons themselves are good and chewy with a nice dollop of meat that actually has some attention paid to seasoning it. Their' General Tso's sauce is a little different than most. It still has the star anise, soy, and rice vinegar flavors, but they go heavier on the ginger than most. It's not totally what you expect when you order that dish, but it is REALLY good. The fried aspect is done really well. Not that heavy batter breading you get in a lot of places, but a very light coating no heavier than tempura. The only negative I have about that dish is that I like a chicken to broccoli ratio of like 2:1. I am one of those people who likes to eat vegetables, and the broccoli is great for dipping in that tasty sauce., LC's goes a little light on it, and frankly they could leave it in the steamer a minute or two more for my tastes. Everything is done fresh and in-house. The soup noodles (quarter-inch wide fried strips of wonton, not like the big wide ones you usually get, again, attention to small details and taking that extra step to cut them thinner makes the difference) are even seasoned. It's all those lots of little things, attention to building flavor and not taking shortcuts that makes this place great. I haven't tried the Thai dishes yet, but I am looking forward to doing that. Second, the experience: This is no fine dining or anything, let's be real. What it is, though, is a place that makes you feel like you're in someone's dining room. The family who runs it is very friendly, and their little girls kind of adopt our son and play with him when we're there. They are very accommodating, they'll make pretty much anything you want (for picky eaters like 2 year-olds) or to deal with avoiding the allergies they can avoid being a kitchen that uses soy, egg, and nuts. Things like making a simple dish of rice noodles, sauce, shrimp and a little veg for my son. They are friendly, attentive but not annoying, and just make you feel like family. If you want to be left alone, they'll do that too, and still manage to make you feel comfortable. Is this stepped-up American Chinese like Peking House? No. It competes with more pedestrian places a step down on the price and fanciness dial, and it wins. There are places that are WAY closer to me, but I have no problem driving past them to get to LC's even if I am in stage 3 "hangry" mode. On top of it all, the prices are reasonable for the portions they give you. I've always had leftovers for lunch a couple days later. I don't like eating leftovers the next day for lunch because I get sick of it, and food from a lot of places gets a little mushy two days later. Not here, the veg is all fresh and the sauces don't separate.

I just tried this place tonight because I needed a new place to get Singapore rice noodles. I ordered that and some fried dumplings and I was pleasantly surprised. The dumplings are not the typical Chinese takeout fare and looked homemade. They had great fresh garlic and green onion flavor. The noodles were prepared similar to other places but definitely tasted fresher and were less sticky than I usually have. All in all a great takeout meal. The restaurant was small but looked clean and people dining in seemed to be having a good time. This is my new Singapore noodle spot, sorry Wings and Harvest Garden!

So this place opened about a month ago in the old King's Wok location. Having previously dined at King's Wok once and vowing never to go back, I was interested to see something (kind of) different opening in their location. LC's Asian Kitchen hits the spot, my husband and I decided to give the new place a shot last night and we were pleasantly surprised!! The restaurant looks clean and well kept which was the first thing I noticed, because it definitely looked neglected before. Our waitress was awesome she gave us plenty of time to look at the menu and asked if we had any questions, she also told us about the family restaurant that they had in Bloomfield Hills for 30 years and why they decided to make the move over here. We both went with our standard dishes - Pepper steak for me and General Tao's chicken for him. My Pepper steak came out near perfect, with lots of tender meat in perfect proportion to the amount of onions and peppers ( most places give wayyyyy to many peppers and not enough onion or meat in my opinion) My husband's General Tao's chicken was the best either of us has ever had, seriously the star of the dinner. It was crunchy and spicy and sweet and just absolutely amazing. Both of our dinners came with the choice of egg roll or soup (both would have been nice but for the price I'm alright making a choice) They have a lot of the typical Chinese meals on the menu as well as a few Thai dishes . Carry out prices make them the cheapest spot in town by at least a dollar. Over all I'm happy we found a new place to eat that's clean, friendly and has great food!!

Went there last night to get carry out for the first time since the new ownership took over. The dining room was redone and looked great. The owner was at the front counter tending to the carryout orders and could not have been more friendly. I ended up having a conversation with him and his wife who had come out from the kitchen to introduce herself. The food was very good and very plentiful. I won't bore you with our orders but my wife is vegetarian, I am not, and we were both extremely pleased with the amount of choices we each had as well as the quality of the food. We WILL be going back!

Our first experience there was great! Service was good. And food was great! Best chicken I've ever had from a Chinese place, none of that chicken that your not so sure is chicken! Really all white meat chicken! Huge portions, my husband and I could have split a meal. You get a dinner size plate of the meat, bowl of rice, and choice of soup or egg roll. We'll be back or order carry out.

Wow! This was a pleasant surprise. We ordered Crab Rangoon, Egg Drop Soup, Lemon Chicken, and Pineapple Chicken. Everything tasted fresh, crisp, and full of flavor. Portion sizes were generous too. The Lemon Chicken sauce had a nice, tart lemon flavor. This is the first time I could actually taste lemon in a Lemon Chicken dish. We'll definitely be back!

Found this as a tip from friend, the chef(s) are from the original Jade Tiki. Best spring rolls this side of Hong kong, lite crispy skin and creamy chicken & shrimp filling (authentic dim sum spring roll ). Almond chicken is fresh and huge. Ask for Cantonese chow mien it's not on the menu but awesome!! Crispy wok fried noodles and great toppings ask for it spicy!! Great prices and huge portions. I'll be here regularly.

After reading good reviews, and not finding any decent chinese (other than China Cafe in Novi) for years in the metro area, I decided to try LC's. Results....Well, I have good news, and bad news. The good news first-The shrimp egg foo young was good tasting, sauce good but too salty. The sweet & sour chicken was good tasting, but a little dry (overcooked chicken breast). Just as I was telling my wife "Hey Honey, I think that we have found a regular Chinese joint to eat at." she started fishing in the fried rice and pulled out a SQUIGGLY LONG THIN RED/BROWN ARM HAIR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I stopped chewing, looked at her in disbelief, spit out my food and closed the box. I was mad at and grateful to her at the same time. We both have black hair, so we knew it wasn't ours. Hair in the food is definitely a deal-breaker, and as much as I would like to give them another chance, I cannot bring myself to order more food from there. I don't even know how to rate this experience. Good tasting food, polite friendly service, with hair included at no charge. 1 star? 2? 3? 0?

We decided to try this new place as the Chinese in the area is so inconsistent lately. My daughter and I split the standard almond chicken and egg drop soup. It was pretty good. Fresh, hot, not too dry. The hubs got Sweet and Sour Chicken and didn't end up finishing. The sauce and veggies were really good but the chicken was so hard and dry. We waited a few minutes for our order, so I know it was made fresh, but maybe overcooked? I'm not sure. At any rate I don't think the three of us will be back in the near future. We just can't seem to find a place around that makes both of us happy. My daughter and I may stop in for lunch again though.

Best asian carry out in royal oak! I was skeptical to return after I had tried food with the previous owners. General chicken is amazing and has a great sweet sauce. Egg rolls are made fresh and the plum sauce is yummy. I am a huge fan of the hot and sour soup. Similar to PF Changs. I will return weekly. Thanks

I like others never went back after one visit with the place that had been there previously. Already I am looking at the carry-out menu after less than 24 hrs. from being there for the first time with the new owners/name. The food is delicious plus you can get brown rice instead of white for $1. Had the Moo Shu shrimp it was yummy. Great menu vegetaraian, vegan and meat. You can't go wrong.

Visited today and thought the food was excellent. I got a Kung Pao dinner with fried rice and an egg roll. Everything was very good and the spice level was right on. My only complaint is the egg pieces in the fried rice were bigger than I prefer.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
